Garden/farm consultation and guidance
We have nearly 10 years of experience working with landscapes, plants and people to help people collaborate with their land and plant kin. We have a solid foundation of what it takes to implement designs and the common errors people make.
Our process is a much more affordable one than most permaculture designs, it is designed to empower the client to become the observer and student of their land. We will come up with a design for the land together with you, mapping it to a reasonable time frame and working to reasonable (including very tiny) budgets. We can also grow out plants for your design and help develop your knowledge of how to produce more plants yourself using a variety of propagation methods, saving you a lot of money.
Consultation/guided land stewardship costs: $50 p/h (minimum 2 hours per session)
Process - the process can be as drawn out as you want, some people find one session is plenty to get going and feel equipped to move from there by themselves, some have us back on a regular basis, every 6 months or so to discuss their progress and discoveries and reflect on future project ideas. Regardless of how you hope to move forward with us, every client must start with a goal setting session.
Goal setting, land reading and initial design options discussion (2-3 hours)
Future sessions might look like....
From this point on how sessions look may vary. We are experienced permaculture educators and designers, but also work intuitively with landscapes and plant kin, we are happy to adjust our skill set to your needs and the land's needs.
Some sessions could be teaching sessions, where we show you one on one how to do something so you can get a feel for it and do it yourself afterwards, some sessions may be co-design sessions where we start mapping plans based on your observations of the land, some sessions may include walking the land while talking about what vegetation is telling us about the land systems and coming up with solutions to issues that may be arising.
Any of these sessions are charged at the $50 ph rate, though we are open to barter trade options and payment instalment agreements to ensure financial accessibility.
Property purchase consultation cost: $50+
If you are looking to live a more self sufficient/pernaculture lifestyle in Southern Tasmania we can help you make good decisions when purchasing. Cost:
Initial consultation and goal setting with example properties to demonstrate key points $150 (required)
General consultation $50 ph
A property inspection, simple report, photographs and 1 hour meeting to discuss $150
Please be aware that there may be additional travel costs that will need to be covered by the client for site visits.
